Muddy and Mr. Gold’N Crowned Kings at Spicemas 2025 Soca Monarch

Grenada’s 2025 Soca Monarch Competition delivered an electrifying night (into morning) of music, culture, and high-energy performances, as the nation’s best Soca artistes battled for the coveted titles in both the Power and Groovy categories.

When the confetti settled, Muddy stormed to victory in the Power Soca Monarch, while Mr. Gold’N claimed the Groovy Soca Monarch crown.

Power Soca Monarch – Muddy Reigns Supreme

After narrowly missing the top spot in 2024 as runner-up, Muddy roared back this year with a commanding performance, scoring 275 points to capture the title. His delivery, stage presence, and ability to connect with the crowd made him unstoppable on the night.

To top it off, Muddy also walked away with the People’s Champion Award, solidifying his place as a true fan favourite.

Second place went to Bubbah 473 with 272 points, whose high-energy performance had the crowd waving, jumping, and singing from start to finish. His set was one of the most talked-about of the evening, proving that a trending song can also translate well on a Soca monarch.

Third place was claimed by Lil Kerry with 270 points, rounding out a fiercely competitive top three. He has shown tremendous growth and development throughout this competition over the years.

The defending 2024 Power Monarch, Dash, who has dominated the Groovy category for years, placed fifth with 254 points, signalling a shake-up in the Power arena.

Honourable mention goes to teenagers Zeal and Shequan, who have both won the Luni Spark & Electrify Kids Soca Monarch competition.

Hot on his heels was Sakinah, the lone female competitor this year and a first-time entrant in the competition, who stunned the audience and judges with her poise, vocals, and stagecraft, securing an impressive 268 points for second place.

Third place went to Shortpree with 266 points, adding another strong finish to his remarkable Spicemas record.

Former Groovy king Dash, paired with Happy Boy, landed in fifth place with 259 points, after his long-standing dominance in this category, having collected numerous Groovy titles over the years.
